Bay Curious
Bay Curious is a show about your questions – and the adventures you find when you go looking for the answers. Join host Olivia Allen-Price to explore all aspects of the Bay Area – from the debate over "Frisco", to the dinosaurs that once roamed California, to the causes of homelessness. Whether you lived here your whole life, or just arrived, Bay Curious will deepen your understanding of this place you call home. I was a producer and reporter for the show, and also contributed to The Bay Curious Book.
Here’s a selection of some of my favorite work:

Today on Bay Curious, we’re revisiting the longest student strike in U.S. history. We'll learn about the five-month standoff between students and administrators at San Francisco State, that ultimately led to the first College of Ethnic Studies in the nation. This story aired on KQED News and the Bay Curious podcast. Hear the 20-minute version here. This story was a finalist for WBUR’s Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize in 2021.
How Berkeley's Juneteenth Festival Has Honored Black Pride for Decades
Berkeley holds one of the longest running Juneteenth celebrations in Northern California. For KQED’s Bay Curious podcast, I met Delores Nochi Cooper, who has organized Berkeley's Juneteenth celebration for 33 years.
Does Mount Diablo Have the Biggest View in the World?
Rumor has it, there is more land visible from the top of Mount Diablo than any other mountain on the planet — except for Mt. Kilimanjaro. One Bay Curious listener asked, “is it true?” I found out.
